Description
Description: This is a cast-iron piston and steel control arm that are most likely from a Ford Model T. As we dig we are finding many old rusted automobile parts, and they all seem that they came from the same car. Since some of these items are unique to the Model T, we are assuming that this is most likely the car that we are working with. This type of piston and control arm were not in many vehicles as they are not typically cast-iron, so it did help narrow the search down! It is very heavy and weighs 3lbs 4.6ozs. It has additional rust and sediment on it, although I would rather not clean it more as I am not an expert and do not want to ruin what is present and could potentially be appreciated by its new owner.
This would be a wonderful art project or decoration for any Model T lover! All metal that we find that seems interesting is soaked in vinegar and cleaned up to the best of my ability, with careful care to maintain its integrity and any patina or interesting features. Then the items are coated in oil to reduce further rust and are left to rest. Any imperfections noticed have been photographed for your viewing. Additional photos and videos always available upon request – communication encouraged for any concerns.
Please see photos for additional condition and sizing details.
