Description
Thank you for viewing our listing!
Description: This is lot of iron and metal bits from late 1800s to early 1900s. These are authentic and were dug from an old tip on our land in NH. Many of these appear to be hand tooled/forged, and all are unique and one of a kind!
I am unsure of the exact composition of metal, but admire the possibilities for those who can utilize this in any way. All metal (with the exception of the top clasp-looking piece that seems as though it still has leather on it) is soaked in vinegar and cleaned up to the best of my ability, with careful care to maintain its integrity and any patina or interesting features. Then the items are coated in oil to reduce further rust and are left to rest. Any imperfections noticed have been photographed for your viewing. Additional photos and videos always available upon request – communication encouraged for any concerns. I also have many old hand tooled barn nails/spikes that include various heads such as rosehead; with various conditions and sizes available on multiple listings posted. I do combine shipping, welcome offers, and will discount multiple items purchased.
Please see photos for additional condition and sizing details.
Background: We recently discovered what we believe is an early 1900’s tip on our land in New Hampshire that we are excavating. The finds from this tip will be posted for sale on various platforms, as we are able to clean them up and take photos. Any interest in these finds, please feel free to reach out, we can provide additional photos and videos upon request.
The land that it came from is a 13+ acre plot previously as agricultural farmland. The land is mostly rich soil and clay with wetland areas. The water has softened much of the glass edges, and rusted most of the metal. It was previously farmland with out buildings of unknown types and possibly used for livestock. Stay tuned, we will be posting many other rock and mineral specimens, antique glass, pottery, bottles, metals, and various curious finds as we discover them! We are attempting to “recycle” what we are finding as we dig these curiosities up by posting them online; Thus freeing the soil for nature to prosper and sharing the treasures with anyone who would love them!
Please note: Anything that I am aware of has been stated. All items are sold as seen, as stated, as is. There are no refunds or exchanges. All items come from a clean, smoke-free home and will be cleaned, maintaining the integrity of the item and its composition, prior to shipment; unless otherwise requested. If you have any questions please feel free to ask prior to purchase, and we will do our best to accommodate. If shipping ends up being additional over $2.00 we will refund. We combine shipping and encourage offers and communication.
We are clearing out a variety of items from our eclectically enriched household that we have no use for as we have a greater need for the monetary due to recent unanticipated life changes.
Regardless of if you purchase this, thank you again for your time and consideration! Happy viewing and wishing you all good things in this adventure we call life.
